Message from the chief
My name is Matt Tracht, and I am the Chief of Police for the Winter Springs Police Department. I am writing on behalf of the Winter Springs Police Foundation.
The Winter Springs Police Foundation was established with a clear and meaningful purpose: to support and care for all agency members who have dedicated themselves to protecting our community since 1959. This foundation stands as a testament to the enduring commitment of the men and women who serve, and to the community that stands beside them.
I want to extend my sincere gratitude to our Board members, who generously volunteer their time, energy, and expertise to better our agency and the community we proudly serve. Their dedication is the backbone of this foundation’s success.
This foundation also serves as an opportunity to strengthen and expand the partnerships that make Winter Springs such a special place. By working together with our residents, business leaders, and faith-based organizations, we can continue to build a unified, supportive, and thriving community.

Message from the President
My name is Dan Grieb. I am a former Winter Springs police officer and have the honor of serving as President of the Winter Springs Police Foundation.
Having served this community from both sides of the badge, I have seen firsthand how much is asked of today’s law enforcement officers. They are protectors, problem-solvers, counselors, community partners, and leaders—often during the most difficult moments in someone’s life. It is more important than ever that they know their community stands behind them.
The Foundation is focused on supporting officers and their families during times of unexpected hardship, helping provide specialized training, technology, and equipment, and assisting the department in recruiting and retaining outstanding officers.
Winter Springs deserves the very best people protecting our neighborhoods, schools, businesses, and families. By investing in our officers and showing them how much they are valued, we strengthen the entire community.
None of this is possible without the city, the police department, local businesses, and residents working together. Winter Springs is already one of the best communities in Florida, and the Foundation gives us another opportunity to build upon what makes our city so special.
